3rd commission, DONE!

Albeit a simple one.

The same guy that I sold that repaired Master System to had me modify a SCART to Component converter to have audio out (similar to what I did with mine, minus the ugly hack job for a port). This was a simple job, but I had to scour the internet to reassure myself of where I had to tap the audio points from.

For a future note to myself and anyone else who needed the information, audio is tapped from pin 2 and 6 (Right and left input, respectively), where pin 4 is ground. It's basically a straight shot from the source.

Time to get things ready.

Opened up, wires and heat shrink ready, and soldering iron on and hot.

Holes bored out for the 3.5mm connector and a new hole bored out for the power indicator LED.

Connector soldered in, heat shrink to protect exposed pins, and test fitted.

Shot of it from in front.

LED rerouted, audio points (pins 2, 4, and 6) soldered in and connected.

Closed up. The blotch there is from a Sharpie; I scratched the case a bit when I was tightening up the 3.5mm connector. I also put some super glue gel along the threads of the barrel of the 3.5mm connector and some on the back of the connector as well.

I don't have any SCART cables to test to make sure it's working, but I did do a continuity test from the SCART end to my 3.5mm to RCA cable and everything was fine. Plugging it in allowed me to verify the LED still worked.

So, yeah. Easy peasy mod.

Another Zelda title down...

Finished A Link to the Past tonight. Been grinding on it since December,  but either got caught up doing something else or just plain lazy.

Regardless,  I'm finished with it. Note: I was playing it on my SD2SNES using a BGM modified only ROM (MSU-1 ROMHack of LttP, so CD quality sound and nothing else affected).

So far for the LoZ games, I finished:
A Link to the Past
Wind Waker (GC & the HD remake)
Twilight Princess
Adventures of Link

...damn. That's pretty pathetic.

I may try a Gameboy one next. I may want to try going through Adventures of Link again as well.
Majora's Mask and, sad to say, Ocarina of Time still need to be done as well.

..big thanks to ZeldaDungeon.com for all the walk-throughs. As much as I liked going through Twilight Princess without using a major walk-through, I think I need just an easy way now at my age.  :P

Right after the fight with Ganon.

...and towards the end before the credits roll.
